General Instructions For Multi Media Scrapbook Layouts

Use a thicker type Cardstock for Base ( I like Blue Fern Studio, as they are nice and sturdy and have lovely patterns to work with)

Brush on a light coating of White Gesso or Acrylic Paint in the areas you wish to embellish surrounding your photo. This will help to make the colours you apply next more vivid.

Spray a few squirts of Coloured inks to compliment the colours in your photo, Add a few drops of water to dilute the colours and move your base cardstock around to make runs and drips. You could also move the colour around with a paint brush. Remove excess colour by dabbing with paper towel.

Dry with a heat gun.

Add some interesting effects with Stencils and Texture paste, I like Arlenes Snow, or Arlenes Glitter snow as it is White and you can sprinkle glitters and embossing powders over it while it is still wet. Dry with Heat Gun.

I like to add height to my Photos, this gives a nice bit of extra area to embellish on, around and tucked under my photos. So I will use old cardboard boxes cut into pieces and taped with double sided tape behind my photo and mats.

Choose Flowers and embellishments in colours that you find in your photos. Chipboard die cuts can add a lot of interest when tucked in under the sides of your focal photo. Chipboard words look lovely when inked with a clear embossing ink like Versamark and embossed with your favourite Powders. Play around with placing your embellishments before gluing.

I like to use a Hot Glue gun to adhere my Embellishments as they will set and stay quickly.

Lastly think about adding some clear drying texture paste in among your flowers and sprinkle on some Micro beads, seed beads, pearls or Prills for a nice effect.

Thanks for looking
