Inked Tyvek Handmade Flowers

Hello to all of my old and new followers!

I am very excited and nervous to show you what I have been up to lately!

I was asked by Hilde from Crafting with Dragonflies Challenge Blog to be a Guest Designer for the new Challenge - Handmade Flowers

I am always happy to do a Guest Design Team Spot, it is exciting to join another team even for just a little while! he he

I have been wanting to try Tyvek flowers for a while and also Mixed Media Work, so this was the perfect opportunity to get very creative.

Here is the finished product

I wish I had of taken more photos of the Flower creation but here is what I have done:

I used the Tim Holtz Large Tattered Florals Die to cut the Tyvek Paper

Then Brushed and sponged on Reinkers

Glued them together then Heated them with a heat gun to make the Tyvek scrunch up

Then lastly added a flatback to the centres.

This is what I did for my Background:

I used a canvas board

Using Gel Medium I glued on various torn Papers and Sheet Music

I brushed and sponged on Reinkers randomly

Then I used a Face stencil by Jane Davenport with black ink

Jane has beautiful Stencils and they are available HERE

I painted in the face area with pale pink and in front of the face with white

Then all other details were made with my Promarkers and White Paint Pen

Lastly I added my Flowers with some Marianne Creatable Leaf flourishes

And the Hope Sentiment

I hope you all enjoy my Mixed Media Work

And drop by Crafting with Dragonflies to see the other wonderful flowers and creations the DT Ladies have made.

Hugs Julie xox

I am also entering the following :

Julie this is so sifferent to what I normally see on your blog, but wow still as fantastic. This is really different, I've never seen mixed media before, you make it sound very random and easily put together, but I bet it's far from easy lol. This is another thing you have inspired me to have a go at and I'll be putting it on my to do list x

This truly is something beautiful Julie. To go from a simple stencil to that gorgeous final creation is a true work of art. The flowers add the perfect touch to the whole piece. Of course the sentiment brings everything together. Hope is very fragile but we must nourish it so that it will help to sustain us.

Thank you so much for joining us again this month on the Path of Positivity. It is nice to see another of your creations.

May you, yourself, always be able to draw on hope when you need it!

Your mixed media inspires me--I haven't touched canvas in over a month! I love the colors and your sketching and, well, everything about your project. I use that sentiment when I'm feeling down. It brings me back up!
